Direct Care Workers
Medical professionals such as nurses are often trained to do far more procedures than is actually allowed by regulations or law. This bill would expand the scope of practice for Advanced Practice Registered Nurse to perform a host of procedures they’ve previously been certified to do without needed direct doctor supervision, allowing more patients to be seen and giving doctors the time to dedicate to patients who need their advanced skills. HB 607 passed through both legislative chambers and was signed into law by the Governor.
