HB 115

Keep Our Graduates Working

Under current law medical practitioners face having their license revoked if they don’t pay back certain student loans. While payment should be enforced for all debts, punishing them by revoking a person’s ability to work creates a harsher than necessary damage that also prevents them from securing the funding to pay those loans back. This legislation would allow these workers to continue providing their expertise to the community while they look for ways to repay. HB 115 was approved by the Senate and the House and sent to the Governor to sign.
